So I’m thinking this was not a cutback week. I suppose that a ~20% reduction from the previous week is acceptable, I guess it was 2 weeks ago. Regardless, however, there were a lot of hard miles both this week and last. Cutting wayyyy back was my original intention but some drama came up and running was my sanity. I can tell my body is not happy. Luckily this week will be a lot calmer and I plan on taking a true cut back week (at least mileage wise because I do want to get a good tempo in with so little time between now and my projected half).
And to address LARunner’s suggestion of an ice bath to help with recovery: I keep telling myself what a good idea it would be but I have yet to put it in action. A) I’m too lazy to buy or make ice and B) I don’t have a great place to do so. During marathon training, I’d put the shower head to freezing but I don’t think that has the same effect.
