Whew! Wedneday’s suck. Hardcore.  Class 0930-1230.  Short break. Lab 1400-1700.  Then meetings and homework and other obligations for the rest of the night. Luckily it’s only one day. (Or so she says now). BUT

I REGISTERED FOR BOSTON THIS MORNING. Yup. I broke out the all-caps.  Wicked exciting. Now I know that it’s forever and a half away but I’m super-de-duper pumped for it.  I don’t think I’m actually registered yet though.  It may be that I filled out the form so that the people who run Boston can check me out to see if I qualified and whenever that happens then I’m registered.  But whatever. I’m calling it registration nonetheless.

This morning I actually had a (more) significant amount of time.  I think it may be because I didn’t do any corework (thus saving me 15-20 mins of time).  And I didn’t run quite as far as yesterday.  Granted this morning was pretty slow but I still saved a bit of time.  And as low maintenance as I am, extra time is still a good thing.  Unless you spend it surfing the ‘net.  Which I may or may not be guilty of at times.  Haha.

As I said above my run this morning was eh.  The weather, while cool, was on the humid side.  It was an odd combo because most ppl associate cool with dry and hot with humid (or maybe it’s just me) and it felt just plain weird.  My legs never really found their groove either except for the last mile party, which is deceptive because I knew my legs really couldn’t do anymore.  They were just happy the end was near I guess.

I combined two routes to give me a 7ish (might have been slightly more than that but whatever).  I have a love/hate relationship with doing this.  On one hand it’s really nice to have two separate things to break the mental boredom that can come with hour-ish runs. But once you’ve finished the first one it’s easy to start thinking that you can stop.  Especially if you’re running by your dorm at this point.

But I stuck it out and I’m happy I did.  I get such a mental refreshment after running.  Sounds kind of stupid since I’m running at 0600 and why would my mind need to be re-freshed?  But saying my mind feels freshed sounds weird.  And spellcheck tells me that’s not a word HA. Although fresh and alert could be a way to mangle my words to fit 🙂

Time to tackle the never-ending to-do list.  And the homework list.  Both of which are deceptively short. It still will take me forever and a half.

And before I forget, Lacey asked me the other day if I’m on a training plan.  Nope, the half was a last minute decision so I was making it up as I went along and my next marathon will be Boston, which I really want to say “Screw you hw” so I can look into training plans.  Because I’m that excited. (And yes Lacey, you are allowed to swear, within reason of course 🙂 )

Oh, and if anyone could tell me a “How to Upload Pictures for Dummies” I’d be forever in your debt.  I kind of like how some of your blogs have pictures and I’m sad I don’t know how to.  And, more importantly, I’m too lazy to look it up myself.

Have a great Wednesday night everyone! HALFWAY THROUGH THE WEEK! And, if you’re not on my blogroll (but would like to be) let me know.  I’ve been really bad at updating all the new friends I have!

  1. Congrats on Boston! If I recall correctly, officially you’ve “applied” to run the marathon and if your story checks out you will become registered sometime in October. I’m delaying my registration – I don’t want to pay before I must :).

  4. LOL! you crack me up. i like being on a training plan because it reminds me to do things like track workouts which i’ve really developed a liking for ever since it became a habit! also it builds in rest and easy days which i’ve also come to really appreciate.

woo woooo! congrats on boston 🙂 it fills up really early every year i think, ever for peeps who qualify so it’s good you got that going now.

no worries on the “eh” run either– they come and go, right? and every time a great run happens the “eh” runs immediately fade away 🙂 you are one of those morning runners i don’t know how you do it!

  6. Congrats on signing up to do Boston. For me, it would be one of those “how could I not” experiences.

  7. I am still at the stage where I like the structure of a training plan.. I need a goal and focus!

But if you have already BQ-ed, then screw that!

heheh, I would love to be on your blogroll, In fact I just added you to mine.

  8. Oh yeah, I don’t use wordpress.com so I am not sure about how to upload pictures exactly.. but if it is like self-hosted wordpress then I would try clicking on the picture icon above the post (Beside Upload\Insert?). It should let you just upload an image and insert it into your post for you.
