Oh Lord. Halloween night = shenanigans! I think humans sleep for a reason right? Well, my body certainly thinks so. I am dragging a bit mentally. Another night of <5 hours of sleep. And that’s with the daylight saving time hour included!
Last night confirmed again why I love my friends and Halloween. SO. MUCH. FUN! My feet are a bit blistered and cut open from my shoes but hey I looked hot and that’s all that matters hah. My friends and I hung out and drank before going to the dance and getting down. I’ve just been having so much fun being social that I didn’t even realize how late it was until the lights came on haha.
But man, I really need my body to let me sleep past 830! I opted to push my run off ‘til late morning so I could get some food in me. Dancing + drinking + not really eating too much last night =/= good conditions for running first thing. Kind of spells disaster actually.
The weather was nice and cool, well compared to yesterday, I guess 55* isn’t “cool” but it felt great. Once I got going my pace felt effortless (maybe there’s something to be said about running on very little sleep? I mean, my mind is foggy and my eyes burn but the pace was there). It almost felt like I was gliding along. I only had planned on 6 but made it 7 because I was feeling so good.
Definitely a run where my mind, lungs and legs were all on the same page. A very rare occurrence. Usually one of the three is having a temper tantrum or something. I had the feeling that my legs might do that today because I was a little bit sore from all the dancing last night but they felt fine once they were in their element (aka running haha).
I guess all those mid-week 6 milers were a good thing. Now the question becomes: do I stick to my plan and do more low(er) mileage weeks or run more because I’m feeling good? There’s prolly no right answer to the question and will most likely be a trial by error kind of thing.
I’ll leave you guys with some pics from last night. Apparently my friends are lazy when it comes to putting up pics (and my camera broke 2-3 weeks ago) so none at the moment. I’m going to have to be mean for a little longer haha. Check back though because I will edit this post once they start coming in. And no Hot-Spanish-TA sighting either last night. I did see other TAs (including the Russian one who, every time she sees me, gives me a glare) so he was prolly there but I just didn’t see him.
And to end on a running note: I think I hit 300 miles for the month of October! I’ll double check but man! I seriously was going at it! No wonder I’m so tired 😛
